If you hang out on any of the #Atlanta Instagram hashtags or follow any of the local city shooters long enough (a good way to learn what's up) you will eventually come across photos of an insane looking hotel that seems to be either the set of a alien spacecraft movie or the rib cage to mecha Godzilla. In reality it's the Marriott Marquis located at 265 Peachtree Center Avenue NE of downtown Atlanta.
I swung by today to finally see it for myself and it's just as if not more wild to see in real life.
The building itself is fairly discreet among the downtown skyline but "the bulge" is very apparent when you notice it. I'm a big fan of how 80's the lines of the architecture are.
Once you are inside the hotel you are greeted with a small escalator then an outrageous view of the 53-stories of craziness that bends your next back to even appreciate what you are seeing. I'm not entirely sure how to describe it so try take in the following photos.
Surprisingly it's very easy to simply walk in, take photos and take an elevator to the 47 floor. There is also great views of the Atlanta skyline once you are up there.
Drop my a line at yo@luke.so, I'd love to hang out!
