This Saturday I was the volunteer shooter for the awesome Community Bucket and Park Pride #loveyourcity event. The morning was dedicated to various back breaking tasks around improving and adding to Atlanta's own Kittredge Park. Think of it like huge scale gardening but it benefits the whole community.
I don't think I've seen so many happy people ankle deep in mud, mulch or invasive plants while also getting rained on. Safe to stay it was a blast to shoot and every volunteer did an amazing job while also getting a huge amount of work done.
I found Community Bucket while watching local photographers David Ahn's Instagram stories who also happens to be a volunteer shooter. I've made the best connections from volunteering in the past couple years and also being new to town lead me to reach out and offer up some time. I highly suggest coming to an event if you are here in Atlanta.
Community Bucket has a clear and great mission.

The Real work
The work for the morning was from 9am -12pm and everyone truly hustled their butts off.
From moving (maybe) 2 tons of mulch, installing a bunch of new posts for trail signs and clearing invasive plant life. It was really something to capture (and feel bad I was just taking photos and not swinging axes around).
Kittredge Park is looking better than ever and that's even more exciting since spring is just around the corner.
Community Bucket events always end with a social and this one was no exception. Drinks at ASW Distillery and BBQ by Terminus City.
Congrats to Jacey and co on a great event.
